Why Move By Faith Yoga Is Different From YouTube Yoga
Callie Drozinski | AUG 18
I love YouTube yoga. In fact, it’s where my own yoga journey began.
There are incredible yoga teachers creating free classes online, and if you’ve found someone you love practicing with, keep practicing with them. You may even find another Christian yoga teacher whose style you enjoy more than mine—and that’s okay too.
But as my own practice grew, I began to realize I was looking for something more.
During savasana, when everything became quiet and still, I often found myself praying. There was something about that pause at the end of practice that created space for me to connect with God.
Eventually, I realized I wanted my entire yoga practice—not just those quiet moments—to connect my body, mind, and faith.
That desire is what led me to create Move By Faith Yoga.
Move By Faith Yoga is about more than completing a workout or becoming more flexible.
Movement is an opportunity to care for the body God has given us. It can also create space to slow down, quiet our minds, and turn our attention toward Him.
Throughout my classes, you'll find Scripture, biblical teaching, prayer, and moments of reflection woven into the movement.
My goal is not to distract you from your workout. It's to help you experience movement as something that can support your physical health while also creating space for your spiritual life.
Sometimes we spend so much of our day rushing from one responsibility to another that we rarely stop.
Yoga gives us an opportunity to pause.
To breathe.
To notice what is happening in our bodies and minds.
And to invite God into that space.
I've been teaching yoga since 2018 and have taught online since 2020. Over the years, I've taught more than 1,000 classes.
I've had the opportunity to teach elderly adults, athletes, complete beginners, experienced yogis, children, cancer survivors, pregnant women, and people working with injuries. I've also taught trauma-sensitive classes.
Those experiences have shaped the way I teach.
I want you to feel successful when you step onto your mat.
You don't need to be flexible. You don't need to know the names of the poses. You definitely don't need to be able to stand on your head.
My teaching is designed to give you options and help you work with the body you have today.
Instead of focusing on what your body can't do, we focus on what it can do.
Whether you're looking to build strength, improve mobility, reduce tension, or simply take a few minutes to move and breathe, there is a place for you.
There is nothing wrong with taking a yoga class simply because you want to move your body.
I still love movement for movement's sake.
But I also believe caring for our physical health can be connected to something deeper.
At Move By Faith, I want you to leave your mat feeling like you did something good for your body—but I also want you to leave feeling refreshed, restored, and a little more connected to God.
My hope is that these classes help you quiet some of the noise in your mind, release some of the tension you're carrying in your body, and create space in your heart to hear from the One who loves you.
YouTube yoga will always have a place in my own fitness journey. But Move By Faith was created for the woman who wants something more than simply following along with a yoga video.
If you're looking for a practice that intentionally brings together movement, faith, Scripture, and prayer, I'd love to have you join me on the mat.
Explore Move By Faith Yoga and find a class that meets you exactly where you are today.
